Suppose you have a domain name like vanillahousedesigns.com for your organization, and you want to provide email, documents, chat, calendaring, and simple web pages for the organization and its members. In comes Google Apps for your Domain. By pointing your domain name at Google's Hosting Services, you can provide all that for your organization for free. I've been using Google Apps for one of my domain for a couple of months now, and I've loved it. One of the things I like best is the catch all email address feature. You can set it up so that all email addresses to the domain which don't have a specific account, are delivered to a specific email address. For small organizations where one person handles much of the organizations main email correspondance, this feature makes it really easy to use new email addresses without having to set them up specifically. |
